Meet Your Doula
Doula Marisun - Marilyn Rice
Doula Marisun is a caring, nurturing Doula who is deeply passionate about supporting women, children and their families and assisting them with Pre/post natal needs. Certified through the organization Sisters in Loss, Doula Marisun, Marilyn, has a mission to educate, empower, and encourage the birth parent and their family in their extraordinary journey to parenthood.
Providing security, a sense of safety, and support through the filter of a light hearted, hilarious, loving, joyful, humble person, is a wonderful goal!
By sharing my firsthand experience coupled with extensive education and a sincere desire to provide a nurturing environment to parents provides for 3 main goals:
1. More comfortable and confident parents when it comes to making decisions about birth and postpartum care
2. More comfortable and confident parents when it comes to bringing your little one home
3. And finally, when mothers and families experience loss and disappointment, provide a loving space for healing to occur.
As a new Doula, I support birthing families physically and emotionally before, during, and after the addition or loss to their family with an emphasis on postpartum care. It is my desire to provide information and resources that can promote confidence, help reduce anxiety, and enrich the families' birthing experience.

Sunshine Doula Services
Prenatal Visits
I take on a limited number of clients at any one time to make sure I can give you the full care and attention you deserve. By offering Prenatal Visits, my goal is to reduce any stress, allowing you to pay attention to your body and your baby.
Typical Services include 1-2 prenatal visits, which may be virtual or in person at our discretion.
Birthing Support
During these visits we will prepare for the arrival of your baby, discuss ways to develop a birth plan, I can provide resources to assist you in answering questions about your birth, discuss ways to stay healthy and comfortable during your pregnancy, and ways your partner can assist you during labor.
Postpartum Support
Pregnancy, birth and the early days of child rearing can be very scary and stressful.
As my focus is on Postpartum care, you will also have at least 1-2 postpartum visits to help you with routines at home, learning basic infant care, resources for breast feeding if needed, even some light housework or cooking to allow mommy and family time for self care. Additional postpartum visits are subject to an hourly rate.
The Sunshine Doula Way
My role is to ensure you get the best information and care possible. No matter when you need me, I will be there offering support. With past clients I have also offered some labor & delivery photography and essential oil education using doTerra Certified Therapeutic Grade
